So what is an action?..

Actions are preprogrammed editorial tools used in Photoshop.

If, for instance, you want to turn an image into a black and white photograph, you could simply desaturate.

No! What you want is your whites to be perfectly white and the skin clear and  non “muddy”.

You could repeat the same involved process every time but you now can press “play” and you will be guided through a series of steps to achieve a beautiful photograph.

The same applies to achieving a high colour or a vintage look.

I use my own created actions even for my basic processing.

You need Photoshop CS or higher.
